Es ist eine durchaus bekannte Zwickmühle, die sich der Gründer und Frontmann der Band Freedom Call mit vielen anderen Komponisten teilt: Gelegentlich sprengt sein Ideenreichtum den stilistischen und thematischen Rahmen der eigenen Band. „Ich bin ein Permanent-Songschreiber, der im Studio ständig an Ideen bastelt“, erklärt er, „daher haben sich im Laufe der Jahre eine Reihe von Stücken angesammelt, die einerseits nicht zu Freedom Call passen, andererseits aber zu schade sind, um in meinem Archiv zu verstauben.“

Die Lösung seines „Luxus“-Problems: sein erstes Soloalbum Chasing The Sun wird veröffentlich und er verschreibt sich auf eigene, unverwechselbare Weise der Musik, von der er sich schon früh hat inspirieren lassen. Und auch wenn die Stücke über einen längeren Zeitraum entstanden sind, produziert hatte Bay das gesamte Material in seinem eigenen Studio.

Chasing The Sun – Dieser Albumtitel unterstreicht einmal mehr die grenzenlose Leichtigkeit, mit der sich Chris Bay in seiner Welt der Musik bewegt.
Wie der Albumtitel bereits vermuten lässt, verarbeitet Chris Bay lässig die Sehnsüchte und Wünsche, welche wohl fast jeder von uns in dieser dunklen Jahreszeit hegt ..Sonne, Freiheit , Wärme und Harmonie…ein “Sommerhit”.

Und genau mit diesen leichtfüßigen Songs und Melodien geht Chris Bay auf Solo Tour und wird damit neben einigen Shows in Deutschland, sämtlichen Ländern Europas und im Dezember 2022 sogar Südamerika bereisen.

Eine Reise als Singer/Songwriter, nur mit seiner Akustikgitarre im Gepäck in persönlicher und intimer Atmosphäre…zum Anfassen nahe.

Und…natürlich können sich auch alle Fans von Freedom Call auf einige tolle Akustikversionen von deren Songs freuen.

It is a well-known dilemma that the founder and frontman of the band Freedom Call shares with many other composers: Occasionally, his wealth of ideas goes beyond the stylistic and thematic framework of his own band. “I’m a permanent songwriter, constantly tinkering with ideas in the studio,” he explains, “so over the years I’ve accumulated a number of pieces that on the one hand don’t fit Freedom Call, but on the other hand are too good to collect dust in my archive.”

The solution to his “luxury” problem: his first solo album Chasing The Sun is released and he commits himself in his own distinctive way to the music he was inspired by early on. And even though the tracks were written over a longer period of time, Bay had produced all the material in his own studio.

Chasing The Sun – This album title once again underlines the boundless ease with which Chris Bay moves in his world of music.
As the album title already suggests, Chris Bay casually processes the longings and desires that almost all of us probably harbour in this dark season …sun, freedom, warmth and harmony…a “summer hit”.

And it is precisely with these light-footed songs and melodies that Chris Bay is embarking on a solo tour and, in addition to a few shows in Germany, will be touring all the countries of Europe and even South America in December 2022.

A journey as a singer/songwriter, with only his acoustic guitar in his luggage in a personal and intimate atmosphere…close enough to touch.

And…of course, all fans of Freedom Call can look forward to some great acoustic versions of their songs.
